Here is your opportunity to work within an innovative team of researchers and contribute to the development of Maori post-graduate students and a rapidly growing teaching programme. You will lead the planning and implementing of learning experiences for students in various Maori health programmes, including those which explore whanau well-being, and the impacts of trauma. The position will be based at AUT's South Auckland campus and will require occasional across-campus teaching. The appointee's primary role will be twofold - to supervise post-graduate researchers (Master's and PhD), and to facilitate the delivery of tertiary-level courses in whanau well-being and the effects and determiners of trauma. They will also contribute to research aligning with these programmes, and the strategic priorities of Taupua Waiora Maori Research Centre, the school, and the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences at AUT University.
The appointee will have a relevant doctoral qualification with teaching experience at the tertiary level in a field that is aligned with at least one of the following (though a good understanding of all these areas is an advantage): Hauora Maori, Indigenous health, whanau well-being, trauma or conflict studies, structural and political violence. The appointee will preferably have experience supervising postgraduate students, and a track record of research and publications.
The appointee will embrace the vision and values of the school, faculty and university and commit to ongoing professional development supported by the AUT staff development programme while adhering to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, which is central to the mission and work of the University.
The successful applicant will:
Possess current knowledge and thinking relevant to hauora Maori, and ideally whanau well-being and/or trauma studies.Inspire and support postgraduate student achievement.Contribute to ongoing curriculum development, where teaching is informed by community needs and research.Demonstrate commitment to collaboration and working in a team to further enhance the community-teaching-research nexus.Have competent organisational skills.Hold a PhDSalary Range:  Lecturer: $85,000 - $101,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
Senior Lecturer: $104,000 - $137,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
