The Kura Hakinakina/School of Sport and Recreation at Te Wananga Aronui o Tamaki Makaurau/Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is recruiting an enthusiastic and accomplished Pukenga/Pukenga Matua - Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science, with specific expertise in functional anatomy, and exercise prescription and programming. This permanent full-time position, based in Tamaki Makaurau/Auckland, will be pivotal in delivering innovative and impactful research and education in sport and health.

Mo tenei turanga mahi: Key responsibilitiesIn this role, you'll have the chance to:
Lead and innovate course delivery, curriculum development and supervision across our comprehensive Sport and Exercise Science programmes, with specific expertise in functional anatomy, and exercise prescription and programming.Develop impactful research that aligns with our industry partnerships and enhances the knowledge base in sport and exercise science.Engage meaningfully with students, fostering kotahitanga (unity), a student-centred learning environment that encourages academic and personal growth.Actively integrate Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles into teaching and research, embracing Te Aronui, AUT's Te Tiriti Framework to create culturally safe and inclusive spaces. This includes embedding Matauranga Maori and tikanga Maori into curricula and research, fostering meaningful relationships with Maori communities, and championing Kaupapa Maori methodologies. Through this, you will contribute to systemic change, equity, and transformative education aligned with AUT's values of tika, pono, and aroha as reflected in Te Aronui (AUT's Te Tiriti framework).Nga tino Pukenga me te wheako hoki: Required skills and experienceWe're seeking a passionate individual who's all about creating exceptional learning experiences and research that makes an impact. We welcome applications from individuals who: Hold a doctoral qualification in Sport and Exercise Science, or a related field, and have an active research profile.Are skilled at delivering high-quality, relevant education that addresses the needs of students, industry, and professional groups.Demonstrate a high level of cultural intelligence and a deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Exhibit a strong understanding of, or a genuine willingness to learn and integrate, te reo Maori me ona tikanga, and kaupapa Maori practices into their professional work.Possess strong communication skills, enjoy collaborative teamwork, and are confident with IT and organisational tools.Pehea koe i tono?
