Nga korero mo te turanga – About the role Te Wananga Toi Tangata Division of Education invites applications for this exciting opportunity to make a difference influencing current education teaching students to bring innovative Early Childhood Education (ECE) practices into all ECE providers. We are looking for a dynamic individual who will bring professional and academic experience to be part of a team dedicated to excellence in teaching, research and postgraduate supervision and maintain and develop original scholarship and research, as well as undertake professional/community/iwi service activities relevant to Early Childhood Education. Along with teaching, your well-defined programme of research will help to advance research capacities, develop strategic cross and inter-disciplinary research initiatives and engage with the community. Those seeking an appointment at the Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor will have a record of academic leadership that includes mentorship, guidance, encouragement and support for other academic staff in the pursuit of their academic objectives and the development of their professional careers. The level of appointment will depend on the successful candidate's relevant skills, knowledge and experience, the salary will be in the range of Lecturer from $87,500 to $104,322, Senior Lecturer from $107,177 to $140,599, or Associate Professor from $142,358 to $157,018 per year. This is a full time role (37.5 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus. Ko wai koe? – Who are you? The ideal candidate will have a PhD, or if applying at Lecturer level could be in the final stages of completion. You will bring a passion for, and expertise in Early Childhood Education (ECE). You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and an understanding of how your research could enhance professional practice and community. If you are seeking a senior appointment (SL or AP), you will be expected to have a research and scholarship record of excellence at a national and international level, along with demonstrated excellence in teaching and successful postgraduate supervision experience in the broad discipline of Early Childhood Education.
