Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Plant Science We are seeking an energetic and visionary teacher and researcher to explore and advance new opportunities in the broad field of plant and horticultural sciences. Areas of focus include pasture, water-plant interactions, genetics, and plant biostatistics. This role is based in our Department of Agricultural Sciences who is dedicated to supporting Aotearoa New Zealand's land-based industries, with excellence in hands-on applied teaching and research across a wide range of disciplines, including crop, pasture, and livestock production, environmental sustainability, and agricultural innovation. Key tasks of the role include: A commitment to excellence in teaching and research Initiate, develop and conduct a high-quality research programme with funding success. Contribute to academically rigorous and research-informed teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Successfully attract and contribute to the supervision of postgraduate students' research. Conduct research and incorporate teaching practices that uphold Lincoln University's commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. A commitment to service to the University contributing to and enhancing the wider functioning of the University. Add to extension and other professional activities related to the discipline. Foster relations with industry, government, professional bodies and wider community. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln campus. To be successful in this role you will need: A completed PhD in a relevant field, or other relevant qualifications commensurate with the role. A developing record of scholarly research and publication and/or creative work. Working knowledge of statistics and/or biometrics in the plant science field (preferred). Demonstrated evidence of some successful teaching in plant science at tertiary level. Demonstrated evidence of good oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with students and staff from a diverse range of backgrounds. Evidence of successfully attracting funding for research activities (preferred). Evidence of commitment to the use of technology and innovation to enhance teaching and research (preferred). Demonstrated commitment to Manaakitaka and Lincoln University values.
