Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Computer Graphics/Vision Located in Christchurch, New Zealand Full-time at 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) Continuing (i.e.
permanent) position What You Will Do We invite applications for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer position (equivalent to Assistant Professor/Associate Professor in the US System) working in the area of Computer Graphics, Computer Vision or related fields.
Exceptional candidates in other fields of computer science will be considered.
You will contribute to teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate subjects.
You will develop a strong research programme, including supervising postgraduate students and seeking external research funding.
You will also participate in departmental and university administration.
The appointee will be expected to collaborate with other academics in the department, and to develop links with the wider computer science research community at local, national and international levels.
Who You Are Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) and have a demonstrated record of published research in Computer Graphics, Computer Vision or a closely-aligned research field (such as algorithms, scientific visualization, and machine learning methods for graphics, vision, and/or multi-modal models).
The successful candidate will have a commitment to excellence in teaching Graphics and related courses, and supervising research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Opportunities for collaboration within the Department are strong, with several research groups addressing fields relating to computer graphics, including deep learning, computer vision, immersive gaming, augmented reality, spatial interactive systems, and semi-autonomous robotic systems.
There are also opportunities for collaboration with other groups across the University, including the Human Interface Technology Lab (HITLab, predominantly interested in AR/VR) and the School of Product Design (Applied Immersive Game Design), as well as the Southern Hemisphere's largest Digital Screen Campus, currently under development.

The appointable salary range will depend on the skills and experience of the successful applicant and covered by the academic and associated staff collective employment agreement: Lecturer (2.01 - $89,645) to Senior Lecturer (5.03 - $142,591).
