Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer - (Disaster Risk Management and Development (DRMD), Public Health)Auckland University of Technology (AUT)is one of the world's top 100 young universities and offers an exciting opportunity for someone with relevant industry and teaching experience to embark on a career as a lecturer. For this role, the focus is on research, teaching and academic citizenship.Here is your opportunity to work in a full-time, permanent role with an innovative and progressive team at the rapidly expanding public health - disasters interface. The position is based at the south campus, but with flexibility to work from other AUT campuses.The appointee will be required to develop, coordinate, and teach at the interface of the public health and disasters knowledge domains, including through postgraduate supervision. They will also contribute to research that spans these fields. The appointee will align their teaching and research with the strategic priorities of the broader school, and the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences at AUT University.We welcome applications from suitably qualified applicants who have:Qualification: a relevant doctoral qualification and have demonstrated capacity for scholarly engagement in the health and disasters fields.Teaching and Learning: the appointee may be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.Research and Scholarship: The appointee would preferably have experience supervising postgraduate students and a track record of research and publications in the public health and disasters cross-disciplinary space.Experience: 'Real-world' applied experience in public health/emergency settings or a disaster risk-related field, and/or experience with a disaster related professional organisation / NGO or similar would be preferred.The appointee will secure a permanent, full-time academic appointment (37.5 hours per week) as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer.
