Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity  This role offers a passionate academic with a strong background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver innovative research and teaching primarily to students on our established Master of Physiotherapy Practice programme.  The position is available from Lecturer to Associate Professor, depending upon career stage of the successful candidate.
The academic will ensure that our students will have a positive learning experience that is informed by up-to-date research and supported by creative learning technologies.
This might include programme leadership, course coordination, clinical placements, student mentoring and supervision of postgraduate research students.
Commensurate with level of appointment, applicants will possess an outstanding research record in physiotherapy as demonstrated through publications in top-ranked journals and success in attracting research funding.
The successful candidate will be expected to establish an innovative and competitive programme in the area of musculoskeletal research, establish new research collaborations within the university and with external stakeholders, and attract external research income.  For more information on the role, please view the position description in the Candidate Booklet for Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Associate Professor.  Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience: •    A PhD in a relevant discipline (Human Movement and Sports Science or equivalent).
•    An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy.
•    Eligibility to practise as a Physiotherapist in New Zealand or Australia.
•    Evidence of curricula design at under- and postgraduate levels.
•    Experience in teaching and supervision in the fields of Physiotherapy and/or Human Movement and Sports Sciences.  •    Demonstrated history or research excellence with peer-reviewed publications and securing research funding.
•    Demonstrated potential to build sustainable relationships with industry partners and experience in the ability to promote partnerships and research links with outside organisations/agencies.
•    The academic appointment will be made according to the successful candidate's research profile and academic experience from Lecturer to Associate Professor.

Remuneration for each position is listed below and will be experience dependant:  Lecturer $97,831 to $116,867 Senior Lecturer $124,375 to $155,788 Associate Professor Base salary $162,557 Mo to matou ropu | About the team We are New Zealand's leading academic programme in Exercise Sciences.

The Department of Exercise Sciences brings together physiotherapy, exercise physiology, biomechanics, movement neuroscience, and exercise and sport psychology to investigate the role of exercise and physical activity in sustaining health, improving disease outcomes, and enhancing human performance.
