Full-time, permanent role based in Auckland CBD Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering within the School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at AUT is seeking to appoint a permanent full-time Lecturer in the area of Power Systems. Candidates should have a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with one or more years of postdoctoral experience in academia and/or industry in relevant areas. Preference will be given to candidates with a track record of publishing in top-tier scientific journals; experiences in undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching and project supervision; sound knowledge of power systems with expertise in renewable energy, grid integration, energy storage, microgrids, and power system control and stability. Practical experiences with protection, fault diagnosis, and automated control of electrical power systems as well as competency with software packages such as PSS/E, ETAP, PowerFactory, OPAL-RT, and PSCAD are highly desirable. This position involves conducting high-quality research, teaching and developing academic programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A successful applicant will be expected to contribute to research and postgraduate supervision in one or more of the above-mentioned areas through her/his specialist field and take a leading role in service teaching.
