The role of the Veterinary Nursing Lecturer involves developing and teaching both theoretical and practical subjects in the Animal Care and Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing programmes. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality education and support for students.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $78,000 and $82,000, dependent on skills and experience.
The Veterinary Nursing Lecturer is based in our Centre for Veterinary Nursing | Te Pukenga reporting to the Head of School, Centre for Veterinary Nursing and will be responsible for:
Curriculum Development: Prepare and update curriculum, participate in course material development, and contribute to new programme creation.Student Learning: Define learning objectives, facilitate diverse learning experiences, and provide practical learning opportunities.Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct reliable student assessments, provide feedback, and participate in moderation activities.Team Collaboration: Work with the teaching team, programme coordinator, and other staff to support student learning and programme delivery.He korero mou| About youTo be successful in this role you will have: Educational Background: Relevant tertiary qualification in veterinary nursing or a related field, with a preference for a tertiary teaching qualification.Experience: Recent and diverse experience in the veterinary or animal care industry, with teaching experience at the tertiary level preferred.Skills: Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and leadership skills, along with good organizational and administrative abilities.Cultural Competence: Understanding and appreciation of cultural issues, with a commitment to a culturally sensitive working and learning environment.For more information please view the Position Description below.
