Lecturer - Bachelor of Software EngineeringWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Lecturer to lead and inspire students in our Bachelor of Software Engineering programme. This role is an exciting opportunity to inspire and prepare students for successful careers in the tech industry.Key Responsibilities:Deliver engaging and high-quality lectures, tutorials, and workshops.Design, develop, and update course materials to align with industry trends and academic standards.Mentor students in programming, software development, and design principles.Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and examinations.Collaborate with faculty and industry experts to enhance learning outcomes.Stay abreast of developments in technology, including software engineering, UX design, and emerging trends.Contribute to faculty research, programme reviews, and curriculum development.About you:A Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is essential.A minimum of 2-3 years of industry experience in software development or related fields is preferred.Prior teaching or training experience in an academic or professional setting is highly desirable.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.Active commitment to upholding the values, tikanga, kawa of cultural practice and traditions and valuing te reo Maori.Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Expertise and experience required:Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Python, C++ and C#.Experience with GUI application development using C++ or C#.Strong understanding of web design fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and UX design principles.Familiarity with development tools like Visual Studio and collaboration tools like GitHub.Experience in using databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Firebase.Knowledge of UML diagrams for system design.Expertise in mobile UX design and mobile application development.Familiarity with agile methodologies, including Scrum.Proficiency in tools like Figma for design and creating interactive prototypes.Knowledge in areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and Game Development would be an advantage.Who are we?At Yoobee Colleges, we believe learning should be defined by the exceptional.
