We ensure our learners are well-equipped for the future needs of employers by providing them with a mix of hands-on and classroom-based learning.Te aheinga: The opportunityThe School of Creative Industries (Acting Discipline) is on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated movement teacher to join our dynamic team!We seek an inspiring artist and educator to shape and lead our movement curriculum within the acting programme.
We value collaboration and innovation, both in practice and in actor training methods.This role includes engaging in relevant research, teaching, and coordination to support the school's objectives and its crucial role as an industry training hub.Minimum Requirements:An understanding or desire to learn te reo Maori, tikanga Maori, and the values and practices of kaupapa MaoriEvidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environmentsA relevant degree in Acting (Movement), and/or an extensive body of work in professional and/or practice-based training contextsProven experience in teaching and vocational trainingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to fostering a supportive learning environmentStrong research background and ability to contribute to academic publicationsExperience in working across cultural contextsAdditionally, a postgraduate degree in Acting is preferred but not mandatory.Why Unitec?At Unitec, we offer a competitive salary that reflects your skills and experience, along with opportunities for continuous professional development.
