Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Pacific Learning Specialist to join our Learning and Public Programme team, who has working experience and a passion for Pacific education and Pacific knowledge to develop and deliver our Pacific learning programmes. This role will grow the delivery to Pacific education settings.

Desired Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone with the following:

Fluent speaker of at least one Pacific language with cultural competency and knowledge of Pacific cultural practices
Experience in growing relationships across Pacific education settings and communities
Relevant tertiary degree in education, and/or museum studies, or related field.
Working knowledge of the New Zealand education system and key policy documents such as the New Zealand Curriculum refresh, Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, Aotearoa Histories, Action Plan for Pacific Education 2020 to 2030, Tapasa, Ka Hikitia, Tataiako, Ministry statement of strategic intent, and the new key web-based resources such as Tahurangi
Expertise in developing and delivering education programmes within a GLAM institution
Two to three years experience in the education and/or GLAM education sectors.
Working knowledge and broad familiarity with current trends and events in popular culture, museums, and learning and digital technologies
A clean driver's license essential
Has a high degree of integrity and professionalism, as our Learning Specialists are advocates for the Museum locally, regionally, and nationally
