Using instructional design theory, practices, and technologies, the role will deliver fit-for-purpose learning solutions.Korero mo te turanga - About the roleYou'll work as part of a small team, helping to transform the Ministry's security and organisational resilience training programme by creating engaging learning resources. As a Learning Designer, you'll be responsible for:* The design, development and implementation of learning and development initiatives including online and blended solutions with support from Subject Matter Experts and the training team.* The design and development of a range of interactive and engaging tools and resources to support learning.Ma wai te mahi nei? – Who are we looking for?We'd like to hear from you if you are an experienced learning designer with the following skills and experience:* Experience in developing engaging online and blended training materials utilising development tools including Articulate Storyline and Rise.* Knowledge and application of adult learning principles and learning evaluation strategies.* Ability to effectively plan, manage and execute learning projects within a project-based environment.* Ability to understand complex problems and think creatively to develop solutions and make the most of the resources and expertise around you to deliver impactful results.* At least 3 years experience in the design, development and delivery of learning and development initiatives.* Experience developing training within a protective security context is not essential, but would be advantageous.Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Maori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Maori (the Maori worldview) into your work. If you are just starting on this journey that's OK too – as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability.
