Rosehill College is looking for dedicated Learning Assistants to support secondary akonga with special educational needs. Be an integral part of our caring community in Papakura, South Auckland.
New Zealand residency/citizenship or a valid work visa
Successful completion of a police vetting check
Competitive hourly rates based on experience, aligned with the Support Staff Collective Agreement
Key Responsibilities:
Support akonga in the classroom, helping them excel in their learning experiences
Build positive relationships with akonga, staff, and whanau
Prepare and customise classroom resources if needed
Adapt lesson plans to meet individual learning needs if required
Promote inclusion and support akonga in cultural and social activities
We Are Looking For Individuals Who:
Demonstrate core qualities such as manawanui (patience), aroha (empathy), and kaha (resilience)
Are proactive, flexible team players who thrive in dynamic environments
Have an understanding of Te Ao Maori and a desire to learn more about te reo Maori and tikanga Maori
Experience with akonga's learning, health, or behavioural needs is an advantage but not essential
Have a growth mindset, willing to undertake professional development and are solution-focused
