Reporting to the Supply Chain Operations Manager, the Leading Hand Signals Equipment Technician of the Signals Relay Repair Centre, is responsible for providing technical leadership and supervision of the team to ensure efficient operation of the Signalling assets.
Located in Christchurch, this is a Monday to Friday, 7.30 to 16.00 role.
Penal rates will apply to call outs outside of standard working hours.
What you'll do Provide overall supervision, training and mentoring of staff.
Provide technical information and assistance to the Signals Field staff and Engineering nationwide.
Meet the requirements of the Signals Telecommunications Electrical (STE) code including planning, overhaul, maintenance, repairs and renewal work.
Carry out work in a timely and cost-effective manner reflecting operational priority.
Ensure work is carried out in a way that complies with all KiwiRail quality, safety and engineering standards.
What you'll need A minimum of 6-10 years' relevant working experience.
Ideally Level 5 Electrical Engineering (advanced trades).
Electrical Supervisor certification.
Proven people management and leadership experience.
