Description Te Whare Whitinga o te Ra in Rotorua has an exciting and rare opportunity for a passionate, nurturing and pro-active Teacher to Lead the 2–3-year-old room.
About us - Te Whare Whitinga o te Ra is located in the Eastern suburb of Rotorua, a purpose-built environment placed on beautiful land of Te Roro o te Rangi. We are a 75 placed centre across 3 rooms - Nga Mokai (0-2), Tuteniu (2-3), Uenukukopako (4-5). Our centre follows the values of Tikanga Maori, Whakawhanaungatanga and Manaakitanga.

Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate/s will have:
An ECE teacher qualification and registration as an ECE teacher in New Zealand (Full)
Commitment to the Teaching Council's Code of Professional Responsibility and Standards for the Teaching Profession
Knowledge of legislation and ECE regulations relating to an early learning centre
Sound knowledge and understanding of Te Whariki curriculum
Experience with StoryPark, desirable
Ability to address challenges positively and proactively
Ability to lead and support the growth of other teachers
Enthusiasm and energy for working with young children
Competency in planning and curriculum reviews
A personality that builds strong relationships with staff and parents/whanau
Strong professional ethics
A nurturing disposition and passion for supporting young children
Good understanding of child development and ECE theories
Ability to build responsive relationships with tamaiti/tamariki and their whanau
Excellent communication skills and flexibility
Understanding and implementation of Te Reo Maori me ona Tikanga is an advantage
Hours Hours for this role are based on full time (32-40 hours) working between 7.45 – 5.00pm.
Criteria to Apply An ECE teacher qualification and registration as an ECE teacher in New Zealand (Full)
Must have a clean Police Vet
Pass the Safety Checking criteria for working with children
