He angitutanga | About the role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Leadership Coach to develop and enhance leadership capabilities within our organisation through personalised, one-on-one coaching.
This role focuses on empowering leaders to meet both their individual development goals and the broader organisational objectives.
Your core responsibilities will include: * Research, design or customise and deliver 3-5 coaching pathways (e.g., leadership brand development, managing performance, coaching others) tailored to leadership needs using both new and existing public sector models.
* Collaborate with leaders and managers to identify coaching needs and enhance their leadership effectiveness.
* Schedule and deliver one-on-one coaching sessions focused on individual development and challenges.
* Develop simple support resources to help leaders track and apply their learning in day-to-day roles.
* Track progress and outcomes of coaching engagements to ensure continuous improvement and measurable impact.
* Work closely with Leadership Capability Partners, L&D, OD, and other key stakeholders to align coaching efforts with broader leadership initiatives.
* Build and maintain relationships with key individuals and groups across sectors to share resources and insights.
* Meet performance expectations and set targets for coaching sessions and evaluation feedback.
* Manage knowledge and information securely, ensuring access protocols are followed.
* Take responsibility for your own safety and wellbeing, as well as that of others.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience; * At least 3 years of experience coaching leaders across different organisational levels.
* Expertise in best practice coaching tools and methodologies, including Public Service LDC leadership development tools, resources and offerings.
* Human behaviour/ psychology, or related qualification, or equivalent knowledge from experience desirable.
* Skilled in facilitating coaching both in-person and online.
* Experience in measuring coaching impact and adapting sessions accordingly.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to build trust, solve problems, and support peers in a collaborative environment.
* Proactively contributes feedback to decision-making processes.
* High personal and professional standards with a focus on accuracy and results.
* Understanding of the Maori Crown relationship and the ability to apply tikanga and te reo Maori in the workplace.

The salary range for this position is $92,450 - $116,985 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
