Join Healthy Families South Auckland as the Lead Systems Innovator , where you'll not only drive systemic change and create sustainable health solutions but also champion systems thinking and innovation practice across the team. This is a pivotal role where you'll empower communities to shape their own wellbeing while collaborating with key partners—local government, Maori and Pasifika leaders, and community organisations—to ensure equitable health outcomes for South Auckland. You'll work in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Healthy Families NZ to create lasting impact across Tamaki Makaurau.
In this role, you'll contribute to innovative solutions that drive systems change, creating healthier, more resilient communities for future generations. You'll lead by example, inspiring the team and stakeholders to embrace new ways of thinking and working to deliver meaningful health initiatives.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coordinating health initiatives focused on nutrition, physical activity, and reducing tobacco and alcohol use, with an emphasis on cultural relevance.
• Building strong relationships with Maori, Pasifika, and local organisations to drive collective impact and empower communities to take charge of their health.
• Supporting the implementation of Maori health frameworks and integrating matauranga Maori into health promotion practices.
• Delivering culturally aligned, community-led health initiatives that promote lasting change.
• Championing systems thinking to drive innovative, collaborative approaches across the team and external stakeholders.
• Ensuring initiatives are inclusive, accessible, and relevant to the diverse needs of South Auckland communities.

To succeed in this role, you will have a deep understanding of health promotion and prevention, with a particular focus on systems change that benefits our Maori and Pasifika communities. You'll be driven by a commitment to improving whanau health, reducing inequities, and creating lasting positive change for South Auckland.
Your expertise in Maori and Pasifika health, combined with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by these communities, will ensure that the strategies you develop reflect the cultural values and knowledge of our people. The ability to build strong community partnerships will be key to fostering collaborative action, and you will work alongside Maori and Pasifika leaders to ensure their perspectives are integrated into the health initiatives you lead.
You will also be comfortable with flexible working arrangements and hold a current New Zealand driver's licence.
