About the Opportunity Are you ready to step into a pivotal role that keeps one of New Zealand's premier research facilities running smoothly? FRDC Palmerston North is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Store Person to join our team on a permanent basis. This is your chance to contribute to the cutting-edge world of food research and development at Fonterra, a global leader in dairy innovation.
As the Lead Store Person, you will be the backbone of our central store operations. Your expertise will ensure the seamless flow of goods in and out of the facility, maintaining the highest standards of safety, biosecurity, and quality. You'll be instrumental in supporting our R&D teams, driving continuous improvement, and utilizing your digital prowess to refine our processes.
Key responsibilities include: Oversee and manage the receipt and dispatch of goods, adhering to Fonterra global standards and FRDC SOPs.Ensure accurate and timely handling of inward goods, maintaining documentation integrity and eligibility for ingredients and finished products.Coordinate all outbound freight, including export samples and temperature-controlled products.Maintain optimal stock levels and system updates to manage material and consumable turnover.Drive storage facility performance, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.Guarantee inventory accuracy through cycle counting, investigations, and reporting. Other responsibilities will also include: Manage and connect gas bottles and hazardous substances, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.Lead documentation development and review to meet all Fonterra and regulatory requirements.Conduct area audits to manage risks and maintain a safe and efficient working environment.Handle storage and disposal of various waste streams, including recycling, biohazard, and chemical waste. About You We're seeking an exceptional self-starter with a passion for excellence and safety. You will also have: 5 years relevant inventory management experience within a food environment or equivalentExperience in a purchasing/inventory management environmentStrong leadership and communication skillsA strong focus in Health and SafetyA sound understanding of the Supply Chain processes.Excellent planning and problem-solving skillsA current Forklift licence and Osh CertificateTech savvy skills with excellent computer skills in MS Office suite of products and excellent knowledge in inventory management systems You will be required to have work eligibility for New Zealand to be considered for this role.
