Each day, you will ensure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements. You will also showcase your expertise by leading the site team, defining main guidelines, and allocating tasks.The work model for the role is: On-site.This role is contributing to the Process Automation Marine and Ports Division of ABB, New Zealand. You will collaborate seamlessly with sales, project management, commissioning and site teams to ensure that activities related to engineering and site for the allocated project/s are efficiently executed, in accordance with contract specification, quality and safety requirements.You will be mainly accountable for:Leading the design and engineering of marine and ports power systems based on MV/LV power systems including application of protection, control and monitoring schemes, variable frequency drive systems and automation and control systems.Coordinating all on-site activities to ensure the successful execution of start-up, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning activities in alignment with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.Ensuring all site activities are executed as per schedule, reviewing periodic reports, and ensuring timely handover of work areas from customers.Serving as a project representative by building and maintaining effective relationships with customers as well as other local organizations such as authorities and suppliers to ensure their active support of field activities.Closing all punch lists, handover of installed equipment, as-built documentation, material reconciliation, site de-mobilization, etc., and receiving the final certification from the customer.Qualifications for the roleDegree in Engineering with around 10 years of experience in design and engineering of electrical and automation solutions for marine and ports and/or offshore projects.You are highly skilled in site management with in-depth knowledge on commissioning and delivering integrated solutions.Ability to demonstrate your knowledge in engineering of MV and LV switchgear, generators, transformers, motors, AC drives, UPS, and automation and control systems.Experience or knowledge of next generation power systems based on DC grid power systems with generator, energy storage, etc. is an advantage.Possess knowledge of marine systems classification requirements, international standards equipment's FAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting.You are passionate about delivering excellent service to clients and projects.You are at ease communicating in English and confident in working with different teams.More about usABB Marine & Ports supplies world-leading technologies that are driving the evolution of sustainable shipping.
