Job Description Mo tenei turanga mahi (About the position) We're looking for a Lead Technician to bring some good energy to our Pipeline Mechanical and Pipeline Field Technician teams. Working a part of our Field Operations South team you will leading a small team providing best industry practice operations and maintenance services for the Firstgas gas transmission system. You can expect to: Provide both technical and non-technical leadership to team, spending time on what is important and eliminating roadblocks for team.
Carry out all required people processes for those staff who report to this position, for example 1:1 catch ups, competency support, performance reviews.
– With support from the operations Manager when required Provide regular feedback to team members to ensure they remain competent to carry out on role, and develop into future roles.
Coach and mentor team members on achieving goals and developing skills in own role and future roles.
Take the lead in driving positive behaviour, change and actively engage with organisation-wide initiatives.
Work with Manager to organise team meetings, topics of discussion and progress towards team and organisation goals.
This role supports the team from the southern Waikato part of our pipeline, along the Kapiti Coast and across to Hastings. Qualifications Ko wai koe (About you) As well as being an awesome team member who brings a 'can do' attitude and good energy to everything you do, you will have: 8+ years' experience in a similar field (mechanical or I&E). Proven experience coaching and mentoring team members to achieve goals and develop skills in own role and future roles.
Excellent communication skills - able to clearly communicate on complex subjects, with a variety of audiences, sometimes in high pressure situations. Be able to manage situations effectively, with a knowledge of when an issue needs to be escalated Drive to grow and develop others.
