Lead Para Cycling Coach

CYCLING NEW ZEALAND OVERVIEW Cycling New Zealand is the National Sports Organisation for all cycling codes in New Zealand in the interests of; Road, Track and Cyclocross, Mountain Bike, BMX, and Schools Cycling. Para cycling and Cycling New Zealand will be merging from 2025 and we are looking for a Lead Para Cycling Coach. PURPOSE To continue to build a sustainable high performance Para cycling program capable of achieving medal success at major events such as the world track and road cycling championships and the Paralympic Games, while also supporting the development programs. In doing so, this role will need to work very closely with other lead and development coaches to reach agreed upon collective performance outcomes. The Lead Para Cycling Coach will be a part of the Performance Leadership Team (PTL) while also working in collaboration with the other coaches, the Athlete Performance Support (APS) staff and the High Performance Director (HPD) to find the best possible service support for the program and the athletes within the program. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Experience creating, developing and leading a successful people focused high performance culture within a team that aligns with organisational values. Extensive experience coaching in a high performance track and road cycling environment. Ideally, experience leading a squad or team in a World Championships or Paralympic Games. Experience developing and delivering both strategic and operational plans in collaboration with other teams and disciplines. Experience working closely with sports science and sports medicine practitioners.
