In addition to directly assisting countries in some areas, the PHC team also contracts partners/suppliers for technical assistance, acts as a knowledge hub, supports mentoring and facilitates connections.
About the role The Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) pillar objective is to provide Polynesian countries with support for cancer control and mental health activities.
As the Lead – NCD you are responsible for the strategic development, design, planning, monitoring, reporting and implementation of the work programme.
This role is fixed term for 5 years and has a salary midpoint of $140,938, actual salary dependent on your experience.
Key Responsibilities: Familiar with health and development issues of Polynesian countries and the connections to Pasifika communities in NZExperience collaborating and brokering with other stakeholders to achieve desired outcomesKnowledge of international development, development programmes and principlesAdvanced knowledge of the machinery of Government, risk management, managing at the political interfaceTertiary qualification in Medicine, Public Health, Population Health, or a relevant fieldAbout us At Manatu Hauora – Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance.
