Lead Montessori Teacher

Details of the offer

We are looking for a passionate, experienced individual to join our team as a lead teacher at our small, community-focused childcare centre in Kaikoura. This role is ideal for registered teachers ready to embrace our unique approach to early childhood education in a close community setting.
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic lead teacher who is experienced in both teaching and classroom management. Previous Montessori experience or training is preferred but not essential; however, the teacher must be trained and registered. The classroom is fully equipped, and training opportunities will be available for teachers who are committed to the Montessori philosophy and approach.
Our centre, situated in the heart of Kaikoura, offers a distinctive, community-based childcare experience. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive, family-like environment for children, teachers, and families, with strong connections to our close-knit community. We provide our children with meaningful opportunities to engage with their town, fostering a sense of belonging and connection.
Responsibilities:
Lead the team in fostering a nurturing, engaging environment where children can explore and learn.
Work closely with children, families, and staff to cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning space.
Design and implement developmentally appropriate activities aligned with our centre's philosophy and tailored to each child's needs.
Mentor and guide fellow team members in upholding best practices in early childhood education.
What we offer:
A leadership role in a family-like, community-centered environment.
Competitive pay based on experience and leadership responsibilities.
Support with teacher registration and professional growth.
Ongoing professional development and Montessori training.
Discount on childcare fees for your child.
Minimum Requirements:
Holds a current ECE teacher registration or is a Primary trained Kaiako.
