The Role
We are seeking a Lead Merchandise Planner to join our team at our Newmarket Support Office in Auckland. In this critical hands on role, you will leverage your analytical skills to drive strategic merchandise planning and budget management. Reporting to the General Manager Merchandise, you will collaborate closely with buying and design teams to ensure our footwear collections align with business objectives and financial targets.
Key Responsibilities: Budget Development: Create and present detailed seasonal budgets that align with overall business goals, ensuring effective allocation of resources.Range Planning – Develop seasonal buy plans to support budgets and Option counts kept within company strategy.Open to Buy & Stock Management: Oversee inventory levels to optimise profitability while adhering to established budget requirements & sales forecasts. Actively managing quality of stock, i.e. freshness and agedForecasting: Utilise historical sales data and market trends to accurately forecast performance of key product lines, adjusting plans as necessary.Trade Performance Analysis: Provide comprehensive updates on trade performance, using data-driven insights to guide future planning efforts.Post-Season Analysis: Conduct in-depth reviews of seasonal performance, compiling data to inform strategies for upcoming cycles.Process Improvement: Works with other stake holders in the business to improve processes and efficiencies.Collaboration: Engage with retail and distribution teams to manage aged stock and ensure efficient stock turnover.Coaching: Create a culture of development through coaching, delegation, development plans and giving feedbackQualifications: 8 + years of experience in a similar planning or analytical roleStrong analytical skills with a focus on detail and the ability to derive insights from complex data setsAdvanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and forecastingExcellent communication and organisational skills to effectively present insights to stakeholdersA collaborative approach, with proven ability to build relationships across diverse teamsAlignment with our core values: Accountable, Inspiring, Integrity, Inclusive, Innovative, and ProactiveWhat We Offer: An opportunity to work with a talented and dedicated teamCompetitive employee benefits, including discounts on footwearFlexible work hours and hybrid working arrangementsInvolvement in our charitable initiative, The Young Hearts Project, supporting youth in New ZealandA supportive environment focused on professional growth and recognitionDoes This Sound Like You?
