Lead Mechanical Designer

Job Title: Mechanical Draftsman/Designer (Lead)
Lead Mechanical Design Drafting/Engineer required for well-established worldwide engineering and machinery manufacturer located in Sockburn, Christchurch.
Our business has several new projects underway, and we need to expand our design team. Our design team requires a well-rounded, highly motivated, and practical designer. The successful applicant will need to be an excellent communicator and natural problem solver who is comfortable working in a diverse engineering team. This position is a full-time lead designer/draftsman position.
The suitable applicant for this position must possess the following:

Experienced with machinery design and complex projects
Have an excellent mechanical aptitude with an open mind for new ideas
Must work well within a team and have good communication skills
A minimum of three years drafting experience
Be familiar with 3D modelling and able to work within and create 3D assemblies
Be proficient with both Solid Edge, Inventor and use Vault
Tertiary qualified with NZCE or BE equivalent preferable but not necessary
