The Regulatory Services Group leads and influences two key regulatory systems for Aotearoa.
In the gambling system, we deliver community wellbeing through reducing gambling-related harms; and in the anti-money laundering (AML) system, we protect the trust in the financial systems of Aotearoa.
We are a responsive risk-based regulator focused on reducing harm and ensuring that iwi, hapu, and communities across Aotearoa are safe, resilient, and thriving.
The opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Lead Intelligence Analyst to join our Intelligence, Insights, & Risk Team for a period until 30 June 2025, to deliver a significant strategic intelligence assessment on the compliance landscape for our AML/CFT regulatory system.
This is a particularly interesting role where you will leverage your advanced analytical, excellent communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
With the responsibility for managing a complex project and delivering the final intelligence product, you will play a significant part in enabling our risk-based approach to the regulation of AML/CFT.

About you: The experience, knowledge, and skills you will bring to this position will be:
Proven ability to manage and deliver complex, strategic, and significant intelligence projects.Excellent analytical skills, providing insightful intelligence/risk assessments, and a problem-solving approach with robust judgement.Extensive project management and self-starting skills, with the ability to deliver quality outputs within tight timeframes.Proven ability to deliver quality written reports that meet the requirements of a range of audiences.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain productive relationships across a diverse stakeholder base.Experience within regulatory intelligence or the AML/CFT system is desirable.If you're looking for a new challenge that encourages you to think innovatively to help make a difference to Aotearoa and its people, then Internal Affairs could be the place for you.
