About the role!!!
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Estimator to join our clients dynamic infrastructure team based in Mt Wellington.
Partner with New Zealand's Premier Electrical / Distribution/ Infrastructure services provider, where innovation and sustainability are integral to them.
Project would include renewables, HV and LV infrastructure, Industrial and 3 Waters.
They offer the full life cycle services from Design - Build - Maintain- to Refurbishment / Replacement.
Key Responsibilities Project Acquisition: Collaborate with the business to secure profitable and executable projects.
Expert Estimation: Provide experienced cost advice, including early high-level estimates.
Detailed Cost Estimation: Deliver precise cost estimates using company and third-party software, managing projects until handover.
Innovation & Risk Management: Support project outputs through innovative solutions and risk management.
Team Leadership: Lead the estimating team, ensuring consistency and accuracy, and mentor junior estimators.
Process Improvement: Develop and implement best practices, processes, and policies within the organization.
Bid Preparation: Oversee the preparation of comprehensive and competitive bid proposals.
Cost Integration: Collaborate with project teams to integrate cost considerations effectively.
Skills and Qualifications Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in electrical and building services, including commercial and industrial delivery, with a strong grasp of high voltage and critical services.
Educational Background: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, or a combination of relevant trade skills and experience.
Tendering Knowledge: Proficient in various tendering processes and commercial contract terms.
Technical Writing: Excellent skills in preparing clear and persuasive bid proposals.
Contract Management: Ability to review, negotiate, and manage contracts with stakeholders.
Bid Documentation: Experience in compiling detailed cost breakdowns and justifications.
Leadership Track Record: Proven success in leading and completing estimating projects under tight deadlines.
Professional Registration: Preferably registered with the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors or holding relevant tertiary qualifications.
