Regional Youth Forensic Service
Seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Registered Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist.
This is a full-time role comprised of 0.2fte lead clinician and 0.8fte clinical practice. (Could be part-time minimum 0.8fte for the right candidate)

Tu Maia is a dedicated Youth Forensic Team based at Greenlane Clinical Centre that provides services for the Auckland and Waitemata catchment areas. Counties Manukau and Northland have local youth forensic teams of designated clinicians who liaise with Tu Maia for support or specialist expertise.
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Provides in-reach to the two secure residences in South Auckland; Korowai Manaaki (Youth Justice) and Whakatakapokai (Mixed Youth Justice and Care and Protection).
There is also some intervention offered to young people in the community. The intervention component of RYFS is called Taiohi Tu Taiohi Ora (TTTO).
As well as creating Cultural reports, the team also produces a number of sections 38 and 333 court-ordered reports.
Provide triage assessments and advice within the supra-regional youth courts.
Facilitate admission for any rangatahi requiring admission to the National secure youth forensic inpatient unit Nga Taiohi in Porirua.
Actively liaises with Youth Coordination Teams. This intersectorial approach is part of the national Youth Crime Action Plan, and more locally Tamaki Makaurau Rangatahi Action Plan.
The position requires a self-motivated and conscientious leader with a strong clinical and consumer focus.

You will have a positive attitude, flexibility, and a proven ability to form good relationships with staff, consumers, and their families/whanau.
Although experience in a clinical leadership role is desirable, experienced mental health professionals with a desire to extend into a clinical leadership role will be considered, and if successful will be supported in their development.
You will work collaboratively at a senior clinical level with the clinical team leader, clients, colleagues, mental health service providers, and other community agencies to promote service user recovery.
We welcome applications from experienced NZ registered Consultant Psychiatrists, Mental Health Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Registered Psychotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers. A full and clean driver's license is required.
