Lead Climate Financial Analyst

$150K+ depending on experience6 months – Fixed Term2-3 days WFHAbout the company:My client is a large Auckland CBD based organisation which is committed to developing proactive and adaptive strategies to manage the risks, uncertainties and opportunities associated with critical climate change and energy issues.About the role:Objectives: 1. To lead the determination of the financial impacts of climate change risks and opportunities. 2. Establish appropriate climate-related metrics and targets for the group. 3. Support the development of the group's climate statement and financial statement disclosures relating to climate change.About you:You will possess strong technical financial analysis and reporting skills and project management skills. You will need to be an independent thinker, self-starter, be able to work independently and exercise good professional judgement. You will need to be able to coordinate and be able to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines. You will play a lead role in determining the financial impacts of climate change across the group. This includes both the likely costs associated with climate change risks and the opportunity for cost savings and revenue. With your strong understanding of financial modelling methodologies, you will lead the design and measurement of climate-related targets and metrics across the group. Then with your financial reporting experience will be able to support the development of the group's climate statement and financial statement disclosures relating to climate change.Skills & Experience:A tertiary degree qualification in finance, commerce, or similar.Professional registration with CAANZ, CFA or similar professional body preferred.Experience in financial reporting for a large complex organisation, or auditing in a large consultancy firm preferred.Experience in preparing or reviewing climate change reporting preferred.Project management experience of 2 to 3 years in managing complex projects preferred.Independent thinker and self-starter able to work independently.Outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.A learner who researches and updates skills in the fast-developing climate reporting discipline.Strong coaching and facilitation skills.Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word experience.Intermediate Power BI skills.If you are passionate about helping businesses and organisations plan for climate change and possess the right skills for this challenging and varied financial analysis role, we encourage you to apply with your CV and a cover letter.It is essential that you are based in New Zealand and have the legal right to work in New Zealand to be considered for this role.Ref: 129001Hi I'm Kayne, I manage this role.
