Permanent, full time, experienced lead carpenter/site supervisor wanted for a variety of commercial and residential renovations and new construction. Time to be split between working on tools when required, and project organization and supervision as required. Prerequisites: Reliable transportation/driver's licence Criminal Record Check will be required Steel toe boots and PPE Hand tools Excellent communication skills Positive team attitude Reliable and punctual Physically fit, good work ethic Attention to detail Experience: Min. 5 years experience in construction and 2 years experience leading small to medium size construction projects/renovations, supervising crew and trades Able to lead and work with crew from forming foundation through to finishing stages of new construction and renovation projects Ability to split time between working on tools when required, and project organization and supervision Familiarity with BC Building Code Able to read plans and specifications and assist with shop dwg. process Able to use computer for email, scheduling, coordination Experience working in occupied spaces, and with other trades Familiar with rough and finish carpentry, framing, concrete, siding, decking, window/door/hardware installation, steel studs, t-bar, soffits/facia, unique/specialty systems, kitchen and bath renovations and millwork installation Diverse experience in commercial, residential and institutional construction for both renovations and new construction. Knowledge and respect for good health and safe work practices around co- workers, equipment, machinery and occupied or public spaces Awareness of Hazmat materials identification and abatement procedures Ability to assist project managers and co-workers identifying and projecting material and scheduling needs Experience sharing knowledge, and taking responsibility while working with less experienced crew Experience making sound time management decisions balancing production orientated work vs. quality finished product Compensation: Wage based on experience.
