About the Role (London / Knaresborough based)
The Lead Battery Storage Contract Specialist's role will comprise receipt and due diligence of shovel ready projects from Harmony's development team, leading the pre-procurement phase development of the projects, preparing technical and commercial tender packages, managing tenders, closing contracts and supporting Harmony's finance team. Initially Harmony is targeting battery energy storage projects in the UK, but the role may grow to involve solar or work in other jurisdictions as time progresses.
The ideal candidate would be an engineer with development and procurement experience, who is able to perform due diligence on projects and prepare both commercial and technical aspects of tender packages (e.g. drafting project specific Employer's Requirements). The candidate would also have experience leading projects in the run-up to procurement, supporting financing processes, and have experience of negotiating contracts with battery suppliers and balance of plant contractors.

Key responsibilities
Due diligence of projects received from the development team, including inputting into technical planning decisions
Procurement and tendering, including supplier qualification, preparation of contract documentation and Employer's Requirements, negotiation
Leading management of projects in the pre-construction phase
Supporting financing of future projects, including managing due diligence processes, commenting on technical inputs to financial models
Additional responsibilities for the right candidate
Developing strategies for growth of the business, including plans to deliver solar/storage hybrid projects, new business cases, etc.
Contract management
Responsibility for development of new solar assets in pre-planning and consented stages.
Independently managing the construction of energy storage projects.
Degree educated or significant relevant experience. Ideally an Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree
Significant experience in a similar role for a renewable energy developer, contractor or consultancy, including having led contract negotiations for multi-million pound contracts
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Battery energy storage experience would be a positive but not essential
Development and procurement experience
