Full timeWe are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Landscaper to create the beautiful commercial backyards we're known for in the Wellington area.As a Leading Hand Landscaper, you will act as a senior/specialist landscaper by assisting the Team Leader and working as part of a team covering the wide breadth of landscaping responsibilities. You will get involved in doing everything from site set-out to planting, timber work, lawn care and much more.For the right candidate, a Team Leader position may be available. Hourly rate is dependent on experience.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Landscape Construction – you will install hardscapes and/or softscapes to our clients' specification. You know and teach others planting techniques, soil and plant properties, prepare soil and apply mulch for planting, and depending on the project and your skills, that can include planting, mulching, timber works, concreting, paving, and installing irrigation.Quality - your work is of the highest standard; you are thorough and take pride in doing well. You will apply your specialist skills to take our project quality to the next level and complete jobs within the given timeframe (and within price).Health & Safety - you make sure you and your workmates go home unharmed every day.Team Work - our landscapers work in teams of 2-5 and support each other. You'll be an active team member, by having each other's back, while having all the support from the Team Leader in maintaining great relationships with clients.If you enjoy spending your days outdoors and getting involved in practical work, this is the job for you!About You:You will have a passion for landscaping, a strong work ethic, and enjoy being on the tools and in the garden. Solid residential landscaping knowledge and expertise, preferably paving experience, fencing experience, and site set outs. You're a team player, willing to learn, and ideally already have some experience.Requirements:3+ years experience in Landscaping, Construction, or a related field.A good level of fitness and communication skills – you'll be actively moving and lifting all day.The ability to work in a team environment.SiteSafe certification.Solid knowledge of plants and their requirements to thrive.Driver's license.Advantageous but not essential:First Aid certification.Ability to drive a manual vehicle.Competency to operate machinery (excavators, trucks).What we offer:You'll be working for New Zealand's most awarded landscaper, creating the premier landscapes we're known for.
