Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Landfill Operator to join our team in Dunedin.
The position is 36 hours a week, 4 days on, 3 days off!
You will be required to work weekends.
About the role The purpose of this role is to be responsible for driving and operating company vehicles and utilising earthmoving equipment in accordance with training and instructions to perform tasks.
Key responsibilities will include Looking after and maintaining Transfer Station and Green Waste areas, excavating, loading, and transporting soil, gravel, and other materials to landfill in order to compact and/or cover waste in accordance with company/contractual requirements and applicable regulations.
Informing and assisting drivers and/or members of the public of proper placement for dumping loads to ensure the most effective spreading or compacting of waste or other materials.
Maintaining a professional image of the company and delivering high-quality customer service at all times.
Performing daily maintenance and safety checks on vehicles and/or equipment as and when required.
Completing all paperwork and records accurately, as directed and required.
Qualifications Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications WTR Licenses are required.
Moderate experience operating earthmoving equipment, such as, but not limited to compactors, excavators, dump trucks, and bulldozers.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
