Land Survey Technician

Fluid Recruitment is collaborating with a prominent multidisciplinary organization offering services both in New Zealand & abroad. They are looking for an experienced Survey Technician to join their Christchurch team who has built a range of experience across the surveying sector. They will be hitting the ground running working on a mixture of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects. With the latest in surveying equipment, you will be working on topographic & cadastral surveys, including engineering set-outs.
Joining a team of approximately 15, you will be provided with increased responsibility and autonomy to complete projects independently.
You will have:
Diploma or degree in surveying, geospatial sciences, or a related field.
Skilled in surveying methods and equipment, including GPS, total stations, and data collection software.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Proven experience as a survey technician with a blend of office and field work.
Capability to work in diverse weather conditions and challenging terrains.
Strong analytical skills with a talent for problem-solving and decision-making.
The role:
You will be instrumental in assisting our surveying and geospatial teams in collecting accurate data, producing detailed maps, and driving the success of various regional projects. This position will provide a high level of autonomy and will suit someone who can work independently and prefers a high level of field work.
The organisation is confident in their project pipeline and looking to expand to meet demand. With low turnover and a successful quarterly bonus scheme, the team is motivated to help their team grow both in terms of responsibilities and expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
Conduct field surveys using the latest surveying equipment and technology to collect precise data on land, structures, and infrastructure.
Assist in processing and managing survey data, including the use of industry-standard software and tools for data analysis.
Work closely with planners, engineers, and other team members to provide essential surveying support for a wide range of projects.
Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to foster positive relationships and ensure project success.
