At Populous People we are all about ensuring our primary industry clients thrive. For the right person it is a genuine leadership opportunity, and chance to be noticed.
Our client, Progressive Meats is an industry leader in New Zealand and one of Hawkes Bay's most long-standing privately owned meat processing companies. The Nightshift Lamb Slaughter Supervisor role will see you at the manufacturing heart of the business. This is all about driving performance across the team, sitting across the management and supervision of the slaughter floor during the night shift. An afternoon start could be well suited to those with families to enable free mornings for family commitments.
This shift is already performing well but we are looking for a leader that can step in and continue to lift the standard on the night shift. You will be walking the floor, building rapport with the team, and promoting a health and safety culture. There will be a focus on building team capability and further driving processing efficiency with an ongoing continuous improvement focus. You will ensure the effective allocation of resources, providing support and guidance to the team to ensure they meet nightly processing goals while further developing a culture of focus and teamwork.
You will be supported by an experienced leader with many years of meat industry experience. So, it is not essential that you have worked in a meat processing plant, but you will need to have had exposure to working in a food manufacturing environment and have a solid understanding of the compliance and technical requirements that are associated with the food industry. And a continuous improvement mindset is a must. To be successful here, you will need solid experience as a team leader/supervisor, have excellent communication skills and be known your confident, approachable style. You will need to be competent in Microsoft Office products and be highly organised with documentation. For the right person this will be a hugely satisfying role.
If you have the people leadership skills, business acumen and food manufacturing exposure, then we would seriously love to hear from you. Please apply through this seek portal or call Tiana Rutene at Populous People on ******** for an initial discussion to learn more.
