We are seeking hardworking labourers to join our team at a wharf within the Otago Harbour. The primary responsibility of this role will be working aboard fishing vessels, unloading cargo. You will be working in the freezer section of fishing vessels, loading boxes of fish onto crates. Boxes can weigh between 20 to 30 kilograms. This is a physically demanding role that requires stamina, strength, and the ability to work in cold environments. You will be working on rotational shift with one hour of work followed by a 30-minute paid break. Shifts can last 12 hours and are dependent on when vessels dock. Shifts can be offered with days' notice. Key Responsibilities: Load boxes of fish onto crates in the freezer section of fishing vessels. Move products weighing between 10 to 30 kilograms. Have a keen awareness of Health & Safety responsibilities. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient workflow. Qualifications: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy boxes and working in cold conditions. Be available to work on short notice Good teamwork and communication skills. Previous experience in a similar role or in a marine environment is a plus but not required.
