Our IANZ Accredited Laboratory in New Plymouth is responsible for providing testing and technical support to internal and external customers throughout New Zealand. About the role Right now, we are on the hunt for a Laboratory Technician to join our small and busy laboratory team based in Bell Block to provide microbiology testing services to the company's internal and external customers. The role encompasses performing general laboratory testing procedures, maintenance of quality systems and adherence to various standards. The key to your success in this role will be your ability to provide rapid, accurate and reliable analysis of samples. If you have strong practical laboratory skills, an understanding of Microbiology and second to none interpersonal skills, this may be the opportunity you have been waiting for. A day in the life of Lab Technician: To perform laboratory testing and reporting in an accurate and timely manner. Ensure lab quality systems are maintained, reviewed, kept up-to-date and meet the expectations of Regulatory Authorities, relevant Overseas Authorities, External Customers, and Tegel management. Responsible for the maintenance and calibration tasks as per the Lab Schedule, waste minimisation and management of laboratory environment to be maintained to the expected standard. Perform Process Audits on a regular basis ensuring all testing procedures are audited annually. Adhere to all relevant Health and Safety Policies, Guidelines or Standards required by Tegel Foods. Actively participate in achieving Laboratory EHS requirements on an ongoing basis. Be pro-active. Required documentation completed in full and on time. What would you bring to the table?
