We are looking for a dedicated permanent part-time Laboratory Technician to join our innovative team based in our Dunedin laboratory. The total weekly hours are 25 per week, with the permanent days and hours of work being: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 3:15 PM - 10 PM daily. You will be pivotal in supporting our scientific operations by conducting various laboratory tests and analyses. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with our dynamic team and contribute to our objectives in scientific traceability and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform laboratory testing and analysis following established protocols.

Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the laboratory environment.

Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.

Document experimental procedures, results, and findings accurately.

Collaborate with scientists to assist in research and development initiatives.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

Support continuous improvement efforts within the laboratory.

About you:

Previous experience in a laboratory environment is desirable, but not essential.

Strong analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and protocols.

Technical proficiency with laboratory equipment and analytical software.

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
