Laboratory Technician

About usGeolab is an independently owned Geotechnical Testing business. We have two IANZ accredited laboratories based in Auckland and Tauranga. We provide laboratory and field testing services to a range of major construction companies in the upper North Island.
Qualifications & experienceExperience in a construction materials testing environment would be an advantage (but not essential). A good work ethic and the right attitude are more important to us. The ability to work as part of a team.Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.A valid and clean Class 1 driver's license is essential. Class 2 would be an advantage.Good computer skills including spreadsheets and data input.Be physically fit and able to lift 20kgApplicants must be NZ resident or hold a valid NZ work visa. About the roleWe will train you to perform laboratory testing of aggregates and soils.You will have the opportunity to get out and about to gain experience in field testing including Nuclear Densometer testing, Benkelman Beams and much more.Participating in activities necessary for the running of the laboratory and its equipment.Hours of work are usually 8am- 4pm Monday to Friday, but a degree of flexibility is required What we can offerCompetitive remuneration.Learning and development opportunities.You'll be working as part of a small tight-knit company with family values.Variety in your day to day activities.
