Scope of Position
Provide set-up, tear down and technical assistance in the biology laboratories at the LC main (Godfrey) campus and at the N.O. Nelson (Edwardsville) campus. Courses will include, but are not limited to: General Biology, Botany, Zoology, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, and Human Biology. You will help maintain and grow the program capabilities of the Biology department.
Key Measurable Expectations
Arrange lab set ups for lab activities and for lab-practical examinations in biology courses in consultation with biology instructors and the coordinator of the biology program.Arrange tear downs of activities and examinations in consultation with biology instructors and the biology coordinator.Be familiar with supplies and equipment in the biology laboratories including the sterilizer used for decontamination of microbiology lab equipment.Keep inventory and provide supply requests for biology labs on both campuses to the coordinator.Prepare necessary materials for labs, greenhouse work, photocopying, and investigation of new lab activities. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in biology related fieldLaboratory experience at the college level in biology preferred.Punctual and responsible work behavior.Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the community college required.
