As a laboratory technician in our kiwifruit testing laboratory, you would enjoy a diverse range of laboratory tasks including data analysis & reporting to the Technical Manager.
The key to success in this full-time role would be ensuring quality control of the lab outputs to an exceptional standard.
To do that you need to be able to train & guide staff, understand laboratory operations & ensure that everyone is performing to the highest standard.
This role will be responsible for preparing materials for experiments, collecting information and lab samples, conducting field and laboratory experiments, tests and analyses, presenting reports, performing routine calculations, controlling laboratory supplies, calibrating, maintaining & installing test equipment throughout the operations of a laboratory.
Key Skills: Problem solving skills: Identifies the root causes & breaks the problem down into the key issues.
Grasp new concepts & can see the problem in relation to the bigger picture. Generates multiple explanations & solutions: Detail oriented with an ability to focus on details & ensure that tasks are completed to exacting standards & a good understanding of numerical information. Self-Motivated: Has an underlying concern for doing things better. Strong verbal & interpersonal skills: Able to communicate clearly & effectively & at the appropriate level with various types of people. Required Experience & Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in a Science related discipline Capable with Microsoft Office Suite Previous work experience in an administration role would be advantageous This is a full-time permanent role on 40 hours per week based in Te Puke.
