Laboratory Technical Supervisor Focused on orchard-to-market excellence, Seeka is an integrated horticultural and produce company that grows, processes, distributes and markets high-quality produce to world markets.
As a technical supervisor in our kiwifruit testing laboratory, you would enjoy a diverse range of tasks including data analysis and reporting to the Technical Manager. The key to success in this full-time role would be ensuring quality assurance and quality control of the lab outputs to an exceptional standard. To do that you need to be able to train and guide staff, understand laboratory operations, and ensure that everyone is performing to the highest standard. You would also review, test, and evaluate methodology and modify equipment as necessary depending on results, data, and research outcomes.

Problem-solving skills: Identifies the root causes and breaks the problem down into the key issues. Grasps new concepts and can see the problem in relation to the bigger picture. Generates multiple explanations and solutions.
Detail-oriented: An ability to focus on details and ensure that tasks are completed to exacting standards.
Numeracy: Experience working with and a good understanding of numerical or financial information.
Self-Motivated: Has an underlying concern for doing things better.
Strong verbal and interpersonal skills: Able to communicate clearly and effectively and at the appropriate level with various types of people.
Experience and qualifications:
Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced
Data Analysis: Experience extracting useful information and translating it into actionable objectives
People Management: Experienced in best practice HR, managing people effectively in order to achieve business objectives
Software/Technology: Previous experience using software and other computer-based technology either in Seeka specific programmes or using a similar software platform
Industry Knowledge: Experience working within kiwifruit, horticulture, or primary industry
Role-specific knowledge: 3-5 years' experience in similar roles
Computer Skills: Basic skill level required (understanding of Microsoft Outlook is helpful)
Role Specific Knowledge: Previous administration experience or a relevant Bachelor's degree would be advantageous
