Pinpoint is an independent testing laboratory established in 2020 by EastPack, New Zealand's leading grower-owned Kiwifruit Post-Harvest company, to provide sampling and maturity clearance testing to customers across the Bay of Plenty region.We are a high throughput physical laboratory, and are looking for a driven, energetic people-person to ensure all personnel requirements for the lab are met, manage the flow of fruit and testing through the lab, and contribute to the ongoing success within the Pinpoint business.Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will be key to leading and providing training support to our seasonal lab teams.This role is responsible for:Recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and managing all seasonal lab staffMeasuring and maintaining sample throughput ensuring we meet contractual requirements for turnaround timeDeveloping and maintaining training plans, training resources, and lab documented standard proceduresActively managing the laboratory floor on a day-to-day basis, ensuring the flow of testing, and rostering and movement of staff to ensure adequate coverage of all shifts and fulfill the laboratory's testing requirementsThoroughly understanding the maturity testing processes, and ensuring the lab's compliance with customer requirements and ISO accreditationUndertaking the role of H&S champion for the labThis is a busy and varied role, which will require you to be able to work well within a team, so excellent interpersonal skills, time management, and organization skills are crucial.To be successful in this role, you will also need:Experience leading and coordinating teamsAbility to carry out necessary training of a largely seasonal workforceUnderstanding of laboratory and fruit sampling processesHigh attention to detail and data accuracy skillsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular ExcelAbility to remain calm under pressureUnderstanding of the importance of health and safety and being a role modelEffective written and verbal communication skillsFlexibility to work extended hours including weekends, if requiredAs Pinpoint is part of the EastPack group of companies, we are able to offer excellent career opportunities for talented and motivated people.
