Lab Manager

APAC is an innovative, post-harvest facility which packs and cool-stores kiwifruit for export and distribution by Zespri International Ltd. Based at the APAC facility in Takanini and reporting to the Post Harvest Business Manager & Client Services Manager, you will be leading the team responsible for the monitoring of kiwifruit as required by Zespri.
The role will include: Product and pest inspections (on site and on orchards)Orchard monitoring work (kiwigreen & pest monitoring)In return we will offer: A great team environmentTraining and development opportunitiesA competitive remuneration rateWe are looking for the following skills and attributes: Excellent planning and time management skillsWell organised and disciplined with excellent attention to detailA background in a laboratory or quality control environment – ideally in the kiwifruit or wider horticulture industryAble to lead a tem of staff (10-15) for seasonal projects Excellent verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to relate to and work with people from diverse backgroundsBasic computer skillsAble to work extra and variable hours (due to the seasonal nature of the work)Only applications with full NZ work rights and a full, clean NZ Driver's License will be considered.
