In this role, you will be responsible for managing teaching and research laboratories in chemistry and food science.The School of Science has seen significant growth in both student numbers and the volume of high-quality research and teaching. Our supportive and professional environment has consistently produced graduates who are in high demand by employers.Key responsibilities of this role, reporting to the School Manager, include:Overseeing the planning, resourcing, and execution of day-to-day teaching and research activities.Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Managing laboratory budgets and identifying cost-effective solutions for laboratory operations.Supervising the maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments.Developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance the efficiency of laboratory classes.Providing leadership, training, and mentoring to the technical team.Coordinating with external suppliers and service providers to ensure timely repairs and procurement of resources.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operational management and leadership.
