The School of Science is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and experienced Laboratory Manager to join our technical team at the City Campus in Auckland CBD. In this role, you will be responsible for managing teaching and research laboratories in chemistry and food science.
The School of Science has seen significant growth in both student numbers and the volume of high-quality research and teaching. Our supportive and professional environment has consistently produced graduates who are in high demand by employers.
Key responsibilities of this role, reporting to the School Manager, include:
Overseeing the planning, resourcing, and execution of day-to-day teaching and research activities.
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Managing laboratory budgets and identifying cost-effective solutions for laboratory operations.
Supervising the maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments.
Developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance the efficiency of laboratory classes.
Providing leadership, training, and mentoring to the technical team.
Coordinating with external suppliers and service providers to ensure timely repairs and procurement of resources.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operational management and leadership. You will demonstrate initiative, motivation, resilience, and a strong desire to succeed both individually and as part of a collaborative team.

Salary Range: $88,000 - $107,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
