The School of Science is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Laboratory Manager to join our technical team at the City Campus in Auckland CBD. Our school specialises in environmental and biological research and teaching, including areas such as marine, environmental, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, genetics, and microbiology. We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to manage the provision of technical support in these areas.

Key responsibilities of this role, reporting to the School Manager, include: Overseeing the planning, resourcing, and execution of day-to-day teaching and research activities.Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Managing laboratory budgets and identifying cost-effective solutions for efficient laboratory operations.Supervising the maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments.Developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize the efficiency of laboratory and field classes.Providing leadership, training, and mentorship to the technical team.Coordinating with external suppliers and service providers for timely repairs and procurement.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operational management and leadership. You will demonstrate initiative, motivation, resilience, and a strong desire to succeed both individually and as part of a collaborative team.

Salary Range: $88,000 - $107,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
