During peak season, the site processes 3 million litres of raw milk, 1 million litres of cream & 750,000 litres of buttermilk every day. Each year 90,000 tonnes of milk powder is produced at the site, filling enough bags to span the length of New Zealand three times. The site has transitioned away from coal to be powered on wood pellets reducing the Co-op's national coal consumption by 10%, saving more than 84,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year – the same as taking 32,000 cars off the road!About the opportunity | Te whiwhinga mahiWe are looking for a permanent Packing Operator to join the team at our Te Awamutu site within our Cream Processing Plant. This is a fantastic opportunity if you are serious about advancing your career and keen to be part of a highly engaged team. Keeping a strong focus on Health & Safety, you'll be setting up, operating, and monitoring all parts of our packing line. Whether you're running diagnostics and problem-solving on computerised machinery or keeping an eye on quality control and ensuring our plant and equipment are clean, you'll have plenty of variety in this role.Your great attitude along with your attention to detail and mechanical aptitude will see you succeed in this role.Key responsibilities and elements of the role include:Assist plant operators with day-to-day processes.Ensure completion of regular compliance activities and documentation.Maintain good housekeeping of processing environments.Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture.About you | Ko wai koeYou'll be supporting, and supported by, a great team and with rostered shifts of 2xdays, 2xnights, 4xoff, you'll have time to focus on you and your family too.Whilst a passion for operation of a food processing plant is a pivotal aspect of this role, we are also looking for:Focus on Health & Safety and Quality.Experience resolving plant breakdowns and maintenance issues.Operation of touch screen machinery.Experience with completing relevant documentation.Being physically fit, as some manual lifting is required.Strong attention to detail.F endorsed forklift license and current OSH Certificate would be advantageous.Are you excited about this opportunity but may only meet some requirements?That's not a problem.
