Job Description Ballantynes is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join the team, working primarily in the Tearooms and Kin Kitchens. The Tearooms Kitchen produces food for our iconic Tearooms, The Ballantyne Home Kitchen Range and Retail Pantry. This kitchen produces high volume and quality products in a varied and fast paced environment. Kin, our sixty seat Bistro, offers a modern seasonal menu throughout the day and is the venue for regular in-house events such as The Breakfast Club, Books and Bubbles, fashion and products launches throughout the year. Duties and responsibilities will include the following: Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashersKitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materialsFood Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredientsInventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredientsCompliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working orderSuccessful candidate Experience as a Kitchen Hand or Kitchen Porter desirableHave good Health & Safety knowledgeFlexible with a can-do attitude, customer focusedFun and enthusiasticHave excellent organization skillsDemonstrate great attention to detailBe a team player, and enjoy succeeding as a teamPossess great customer service skillsHave a flexible approach to work Additional Information This is a permanent opportunity working 15 hours per week, daytime shifts including a weekend day.
